Pathology

We offer a full range of pathology services including blood testing, urine testing, faecal testing, cytology (looking at cells), histopathology (biopsies of tissue) as well as advanced testing for specific diseases.

We can perform many tests in-clinic for almost instant results, including pre-anaesthetic blood testing, unwell hospital patient blood testing, urine testing, needle biopsies of lumps, skin samples checking for infection and parasites, as well as testing for certain infections like feline aids virus and canine parvovirus.

For more complex testing we send samples off to our external laboratory and for most tests have results within 1-5 business days. Tests we send off include full health profile blood testing to monitor our older patients and patients on long term medications, urine culture and sensitivity testing, tissue biopsy testing as well as a whole range of other specific tests for certain conditions.

Mostly patients tolerate blood collection and other sample collection without showing any signs of distress, but for those patients who are more sensitive or find the process stressful we will arrange for medications to relax them for the procedure.
